The Arns Commission for Human Rights – Arns Commission – expresses its extreme concern with the destabilizing statements made by public agents, which target the Federal Supreme Court and its Justices.

Currently, a recent statement by the Attorney General of the Republic denotes the beginning of a new phase of opposing the institutions of the Judiciary branch.

This is a startling and inappropriate opposition to a ruling from the Supreme Court, which was issued strictly in accordance with the current legal framework.

It seems evident that there will be a planned action for the advent of institutional confrontation. Bodies of the Executive branch and entities linked to it will criticize and adopt positions of disrespect and disobedience, in order to minimize the importance of the Judiciary branch, turn society against itself, and create an atmosphere of institutional antagonism.

In view of this situation, the Arns Commission declares its support and solidarity to the Federal Supreme Court and the Judiciary branch in general, due to its indispensability as the one responsible for law enforcement, in order to eliminate conflicts of interest, maintain social order and peace, in accordance with the Constitution and the nation’s laws.
