Support for the Attorney General's Office and the Supreme Court

“A coup d'état kills,” as the Justices of the Supreme Court stated in a historic decision that accepted charges against a former president, generals, and former secretaries accused of conspiring against the democratic rule of law.

At a time when democracy is under threat in many countries, the firm stance of the Federal Supreme Court is an example of commitment to the Constitution. This process will give the accused the opportunity for a full defense, something that dictatorships never granted to their dissidents.

As a civil society organization whose mission is to defend democracy and human rights, the Arns Commission expresses its support for the Attorney General's Office and the Federal Supreme Court for their strict fulfillment with their constitutional duties.
